Below is a brief explanation of the procedure you should follow when excessing equipment that belongs to the Computing Division.
|
| If you plan to excess equipment that belongs to the Computing Division: |
- You should first contact ELS at x3447 or prep@fnal.gov. Knowing ahead of time what and how much is to be excessed will help expedite the process.
- ELS will direct you to either bring the equipment to the FCC1 Service Counter or call BSS-Transportation Services Dispatch, aka HACK, at x4225 to arrange for a pick up. HACK will require a Material Move Request filled out to move the items. The 4-part paper form is available from your local admin assistant or from the FNAL Stockroom, item 1335-0140.
- Once received at Feynman, ELS will inventory the equipment and fill out the appropriate paperwork.
- The paperwork will be then be reviewed by the CD Equipment Manager. If it is deemed necessary, the division will be notified for further review.
- The equipment database is updated, this includes the closure of any maintenance contract agreements and sensitive item claims are closed with the Property office.
- Equipment will be shipped to Site 38 for Excess or recycled to the Equipment Pool.
