Adding a FERMI-WPRT Print Queue for Windows Users in the FERMI-Domain
Access to printers supported by FERMI-WPRT works the same way as they did when hosted by a Windows department server. You can use the standard ‘Add Printer’ interface to add a printer definition to your desktop setup.
All of the printers are published in Active Directory. Here is a brief tutorial in browsing thru AD to find a printer:

If you know the name of the printer:

If you only know part of the name (or the major location), you can specify just part of the name, and the program will search for any printer with what you entered. Our naming convention standard is to have the location as the beginning of the name. For example, to find printers on Wilson Hall 12th floor, simply enter wh12 (note: it is NOT case sensitive)

We are also populating the ‘location field’ so you can also search but location. Additionally Active Directory also maintains other key data, so you can even search by a particular printer model.
If you wish to see all printers managed by a particular group, we have taken advantage of the ‘Comment’ field on all printers defined to FERMI-WPRT such that the first characters contain the abbreviation for key groups: (IE CD, CDF, ESH, PPD, DIR, FESS, LSS)
For example, you could scan for all printers that are managed by ESH by doing the following:

By selecting the Field, “Comment” and doing the ‘condition’ of ‘starts with’ with a value of ‘esh’ the program will scan A and find just those printers that are for ESH.

Using the Web to find printers
As an alternate, you can also use a web browser to see the list of printers available from Fermi-wprt. Simply click here to see a web page listing all of the printers.
