for applications that can use LDAP for authentication or LDAP groups
for authorization. services.fnal.gov is an multi-master LDAP service. At present the services.fnal.gov service has two LDAP servers that are geographically separated for high availability. As a multi-master design either server is capable of authentication or updates without the other being present. Any update(s) that occur when one is not available will be replicated when the system comes back online. This document is intended for the users of the LDAP service. Users is defined as the application owner/administrator that is using the service for authentication/authorization. The term end users will be used to refer to the application users. |
